April 18th

Soooo I had a weak moment today at work. I didn't have my chai (go me!) but we were barraged with some pretty rude customers. A few get reserved for that special place so cranky, and so miserable that they have to take out they're pushed down anger on the people who are just trying to make their coffee. WHATEVER. The point is that I had four scoops of Frappuccino chocolate chips.

I had a hard boiled egg and half a perfect food bar before work, and half an apple and a yogurt with granola at break. I had chicken and vegetables before my workout. I did my A workout okay. I forgot one of my stretches I realized and I'm not sure I did enough sets. It lasted about an hour, which I think is right....

I had a Banana Nut blast shake which tastes just like those little banana/peanut butter/wheat germ cookies my mom used to make me when I was little. I liked it but it need a little chocolate or something. :)

Oh and I just made Quinoa! OMG so much fun! It's going to take a little while for me to figure out what to mix in it so that it's not bland, but today I added peas, chicken, lemon juice, and italian spices. SO yummy.

I had a wonderful walk with Nick yesterday.
We're going to Disneyland tomorrow, and I already know I'm going to splurge on splitting a root beer soft serve float with him. I have to!

Liking this so far. Excited for what it's going to bring me.

Melanie

April 17th

Oh my goodness. So I learned a few things today.
1. I can't eat heavy towards the end of the day. I had too much chicken.
2. Menchie's has no sugar added flavors! Not as good as no sugar period, but for my four allowed splurges a week, I can at least go there for one! I had blueberry yesterday with some yogurt chips. Amazing.

Work was so difficult today. I had two chais over the course of five hours. Customers were wild, I got yelled at by a guy who didn't like that we were out of certain sandwiches...blah blah blah. I didn't eat before I came to work (Bad bad bad) but I had oatmeal and yogurt with a little granola on break, and that was delicious. I'm really tickled at the fact that I haven't needed any black tea these past few days at work. Maybe I'll just stop drinking caffeine altogether!

The huge challenge and exciting benefit of this thing week one is the water consumption. Drinking 75 ounces of water is DIFFICULT, but I like feeling refreshed all day.

I just had a greek yogurt (take two!) with some grilled chicken and a hard boiled egg. I'm hoping I'll react to all that well because I really like greek yogurt and I don't want it to make me sick!

I'm going to see Nick later and we're going to go to the beach and take a long walk. I went to the store with him yesterday and he bought some fruits and vegetables. It's going to be a little harder to bring him around, but the more dedicated I am, the more inspired he'll be.

SOOKIE STATUS!

April 16th

Woke up feeling really hungry, and with aching muscles from my B workout yesterday. B is the harder of the two that have been designed for me at Results. I also went to bed early so I hadn't eaten in about ten hours. Grabbed a greek yogurt and added some clover honey. It was delicious until about thirty minutes later when I proceeded to throw up for the next two hours. I hate throwing up. I'm hoping it was because of the active cultures in the yogurt and that they made my stomach upset considering it was empty. I really have no idea. I had to skip my Ugly Duckling show which makes me incredibly sad because I one, needed the money, and two, love doing the show and seeing the kids.

I had some chicken noodle soup with added peas and a 12oz Diet Coke.
Also had some of my black mint tea with splenda and cream, but didn't finish it. It was too sweet actually. Haha baby steps!
I just had some unsalted crunchy peanut butter with a sliced up Gala apple. Delicious. I can really get used to the idea of earning peanut butter, and being able to truly enjoy it. So so good.

Seeing Nick later today. Hanging out with the boyfriend is also going to be a huge challenge. I want to inspire him to take his health seriously too. We're going to walk from his place to Menchie's and I'll get some original tart with yogurt chips and strawberries. Definitely my "splurge" for the day, but still decent in comparison to pasta and cake. :D

I'm doing this to the almost letter for the first month. I want to lose five lbs. of fat and gain one lb. of muscle.

The minimal sugar thing is going to be rough. I had horrible headaches and shaking the first three days. It's getting better though. I'm already insulin resistant and I'm going to try to change that.

Post 1 !

So this is a blog dedicated essentially to my new nutritional life and the difficulties that will come with that, and the EXTREME benefits. :) I have always struggled with my nutrition level, especially with sugar. I've joined a new gym called Results Fitness in which their primary goal is to give me a ton of personal attention, and to take the guess work out of working out. I've had a few discussions with their trainers about my eating problems, and have gotten some great tips/rules for MY particular goals.
1. No pasta, bread.

2. Just take the sugar out. All sugar should be from natural sources like fruit.

3. Having protein with every meal, no matter what.

4. Never skip breakfast!

I have to lose 22 lbs of fat which is a bit more than I thought but oh well! The goal is to look like the beautiful, adorable, and wicked hot Sookie Stackhouse. Yes I watch TrueBlood, and no I am not ashamed!
So this is all going to be about what I'm eating, how I'm feeling about it and what the results look like when they start to show!

Love,
Melanie
